TAXATION JOBS

Taxation Job 1: Corporate Tax Technician

A corporate tax technician is one who will work with Managers and Partners to provide compliance-related tax services. Technichians are responsible for a variety of technical, administrative, and support functions, including working with the partner in charge and senior management on various engagements, while providing compliance related services to our many clients.  Corporate Tax Technicians have the following job duties:
- Preparing working paper files and corporate income tax returns for corporate clients;
- Book keeping and government reporting;
- Preparing financial statements, complete working paper files Notice to Readers reports;
- Preparing corporate tax returns, T4 and T5 returns;
- Maintaining client files to ensure accurate and timely completion of returns and schedules;
- Ensuring follow-up on notices of assessments;
- Providing assistance in payroll, GST and PST compliance to clients;
- Tax Research.

Taxation Job 2:  Tax Director

A Director of Tax will prepare and file returns and meet with taxing authorities, including coordination of tax audits, negotiation of tax issues, filing of appeals, and directing litigation. Provide direction to external tax consultants and counsel. Evaluate the tax implications of business activities, structures, and commercial transactions, including the identification and evaluation of alternatives and recommendation of solutions to senior management. Ensure the proper accounting and external financial reporting of taxes, including the recognition and coordination of the book and tax effects of events. Review and monitor changes in domestic and foreign tax legislation, rulings, regulations, and litigation. Understand the relevant impact and recommend and implement responsive action to manage existing positions and capture new opportunities. Develop tax efficient international and domestic structures while achieving administrative efficiency and operational flexibility. Help evaluate the tax structure of the company including, REIT alternatives.
